Congratulations to Chris who was selected to represent the European Junior Ryder Cup team in the US in September.
Junior Ryder Cup Information
Venue: Olde Stone, http://www.olde-stone.com/
The Match is played Monday 15 September and Tuesday 16 September
Day one: Foursomes followed by mixed fourball
Day two: Singles
This is a change of format from previous years and will generate twice as many points to play for and makes the format a mini version of The Ryder Cup.
A Friendship Match is a new addition which will see the Juniors playing a nine hole exhibition at Valhalla on Wednesday 16 September. This will be a phenomenal experience for the juniors competing on The Ryder Cup Course just two days before The 2008 Ryder Cup between the United States and Europe gets underway.

Been a busy summer
Its been a while since I last posted, due mainly to holidays.
I was luck enough to enjoy two weeks of unbroken sun in Cuba (sorry to those that sayed in England)...
During the time I was aways a lot has happened on the golfing scene.
We narrowly missed out on The SW Boys Championship, in the closest event for years at Hamptworth Golf Club (only 11 shots from first to last place) - congratulations to Cornwall on winning this year.
After that we had the British Open. What a pleasure it was to see Chris Wood coming joint 5th.
The whole of Gloucestershire was so proud of the way he played and conducted himself. There is no doubt that he chose the correct path by immediatly turning pro. Making the cut and finishing so high in his first pro event was remarkable but not a surprise.
He will continue to be an inspiration to juniors in the county for many years to come. Nobody has worked harder than Chris over the past few years and hopefully it will inspire others to hard work. Like anything in life the harder you work the more you achieve. Well done Chris.
At a county level it has been a period of dissapointment as we have narrowly lost most of our team events. However, on an individual front it has again been excellent with Chris Llloyd flying the flag for us winning the North of England U16s and finishing 5th in the European Young Masters. He has now been selected to represent Europe in the Junior Ryder Cup in the US just before the real Ryder Cup. Chris and Adam have also been selected for the World Junior Championships in Japan at the end of the year.
With just a few events left we now start looking forward to the winter coaching programme.
